What makes postural alignment therapy unique?
By working on the principle that ‘The body is a unit' the process treats the whole body and addresses the cause of pain.
 
What are the benefits of this form of treatment?
Posture therapy is the self empowering and the changes are permanent. In addition it saves on the time and expense of continually having to revisit specialists for regular treatment.
 
How is the treatment different from other modalities?
With posture therapy there is no manipulation, or medication involved, it is purely a process of targeting and activating specific muscles within the body by movement and repositioning.
 
Does posture therapy work with osteopathy or chiropractic?
Yes, very often if other forms of body work are helping with physical adjustments and pain relief, then postural therapy will certainly enhance and reinforce the positive effects of these treatments.
 
I have been advised I need surgery, can this treatment still help me?
Yes, often clients find that they are able to avoid surgery by using this form of treatment. If surgery is necessary, posture therapy will not only strengthen the body making it easier to deal with the surgery, it will also play an important part in postoperative recovery and rehabilitation.
 
     Can I continue with other forms of exercise and activities whilst I am following therapy?
Yes in most cases, however If any activities are aggravating your symptoms or condition, you may be advised to take a short break from them in the initial stages of your treatment.
 
     What should I wear for therapy?
For the posture assessment and photographs, and minimal clothing is preferred, underway or shorts and a sleeveless T-shirt would be suitable. For the exercises you would need loose comfortable clothing. Footwear is not required.
 
How much does the treatment cost?
Price is dependent upon location, and full details are available on request.
Generally, for a first appointment that lasts 90 minutes the cost would be £75
For subsequent visits that normally last an hour the cost would be £60
Concessions may be available upon request.
 
How many appointments will I need, and how often will I need to attend?
Normally clients require between four and six, and sometimes up to 10 appointments. This can vary depending upon the degree of dysfunction present, and a client's aims and objectives. Initially for the first few appointments, you should attend every two or three weeks, after that depending upon progress, appointment intervals are scheduled accordingly.
 
What is your cancellation policy and how much notice is required if I need to cancel my appointment?
As much a notification as possible is appreciated for appointment changes and cancellations. Normally appointments cancelled within 24 hours would be charged at 50% of the full fee and for missed appointments or cancellations within 4 hours the full fee would apply.
